Just remembered I still have the Google analytics account for my old band’s website (The Tillegra Damned)

Please note the fuck-off huge plummet in hits coinciding with me leaving earlier this year. Statistical proof that the only reason anyone ever listened to them was because of my promotional efforts hahaha

Apparently now that Jed has left they’re going to continue as a 4-piece… I wonder if negative views is possible for a website :S

Someone really needs to address the root cause of the stereotypical evil mother-in-law. As much as I typically ignore stereotypes, I think I’ve actually ended up hating the mother of any girl I’ve been with for more than 6 months =/

Currently drinking away my frustration with Japanese beer… which, like everything Japanese, is 500x better than the Australian version. Tonight has been constructively spent listening to Dead Letter Circus, Muse and Skrillex, whilst teaching myself more Japanese and a bit of classical guitar.

Nothing too exciting, but that being said, if it was an interesting night I wouldn’t be on Tumblr ^__^

Back to the topic of Japanese beer, I just found this photo of myself on my birthday (which was spent in Japan with some pretty amazing people). 2 hours, all-you-can-eat and all-you-can-drink for roughly $25. Just one of the many, many things I miss about that place

I love my job so much! I live in this perpetual state of bliss getting paid $37/hr to play with robots (and spend 60% of my day chatting on Facebook), but some days (like today) just border on absurd. Went and had a whinge to my supervisor about wanting to find a PC so I didn’t have to stare at my little laptop screen all day, so he gave me the most fuck-off amazing computer in the world. Twin hex-core Xeon processors, 24GB of RAM and a model of NVidia graphics card that they don’t even sell to the public. Legit $10k of personal heater. So much Skyrim to be played

Last night was fantastic also - house party with Brendan, Anu, Joe and Carlin, followed by a very drunken trip to the Cambridge, where I bumped into quite a few decent people.

Just got back from gym-clothes shopping for Samantha, and now we’re chilling in my room and listening to Closure in Moscow while I try to finish writing a song for my band. Also, why the fuck is deciding on a band name so difficult?! Urghhhh

In other news, The Tillegra Damned broke up… They clearly missed my stunning good looks at band prac too much <_<

2012 seems to be the year of perpetual bliss

Today was pretty great! Took Samantha to Sydney to check out the Harry Potter exhibition - didn’t realise until we got there how fuck-off busy it was going to be!

Arrived at around 2.30ish, and got told the next available tickets were for 5.30 -_-

5 minutes of chatting to the museum manager later, and we were lined up for the 3pm tour :3    I may have also forgotten to pay for my Bertie Bott’s Every Flavour Beans

Honestly though, so ridiculously content with life right now! Made so many great new friends recently, on top of making up with a few old ones, and effectively removing the handful of drama makers still trying to get between my girlfriend and I.

I have come to a revelation tonight - I should stop bothering with anyone who I met as a result of playing in a band. Drove across town to visit a friend at a gig tonight, only to be completely snobbed when I waved and tried to say hi. That’s after being stood up twice in the last month after being asked to drive them home from work…

Hint well and truly taken.

On a brighter note, other than those 15 wasted minutes, tonight was fantastic! Went to the Croatian Club for the first time to watch Carlin’s band “Hopes” - if you haven’t checked them out, you definitely should!

Spent the night drinking with Anu (he, Carlin and I met in Japan), making some fantastic new friends, and teaching people how to say random inappropriate phrases in Japanese. Anata wa oishii desu, ne?

Big day of work tomorrow, then off to stay at Sam’s, play Skyrim and plan our weekend trip to the Harry Potter expo. Life <3

Back to work tomorrow, so keen! As much as I’ve loved spending extra time with Sam and staying up playing video games until ridiculous hours of the night, it will be great to have some sort of routine back in life.

$60,000 of shiny new robots to play with for the next 2 months. I definitely have the best job in the world!

Currently planning a holiday to Melbourne for Sam and I… after our cruise yesterday, I’m pretty sure she wants to cruise there rather than taking a plane. Am I the only person who thinks cruises are the most boring things in the world? =/

Also finally managed to bring myself to apologise to one of my former best friends for something that happened almost a year ago. Too little too late, but at least I have it off my chest. Let’s just hope 2012 doesn’t bring a tenth of the drama as 2011 did

Today’s been pretty good already!

Caught up with Billie for the first time in forever - I think the last time I saw her, she was wasted at the Cambridge and asking me if I’d seen one of her 15-yo friends… Not such a weird question, given that it’s the Cambridge.

After my daily Japanese lesson, it’s time to sit down and work on some songs for the next couple of hours. The new band is going fantastic, despite not having a drummer or a name… but as far as group dynamic and just generally getting along and getting shit done is concerned, I couldn’t ask for better.

Going to take Samantha to buy a huge 3D TV tonight, purely so we can enjoy FFXIII and Skyrim in high enough detail to see my reflection in my Dark Elf’s armour (I realise that doesn’t work). Then going on a cruise tomorrow. Weekend = set.
